Four Ways to Instantly Elevate Your Business Professional Image
Posted on September 11, 2024
Working in the corporate world, your employer provides you with a computer, a phone, an email address and business cards. The company has a logo, a website and procedures established for how to get the work done.
But … when you work for yourself, you start with none of that. It’s up to you to provide these things for yourself. And even though many solo professionals have come from a corporate past, they don’t bring many of these things into their own businesses. I think that’s a mistake.
Many solo professionals often believe that, because their business is small, they can bypass putting together all the critical elements that make their business stand out with a professional image and branding. However, whether you're just launching or already well-established, here are four key factors that show the world you're a true professional who takes your business seriously.
1. Get a custom email domain: I don’t mean using Gmail, AOL, Yahoo! or Hotmail. If you have a registered domain (www.YourCompany.com), it’s just a few more steps to use it for email (jane@yourcompany.com). It’s worth the little bit of extra effort to demonstrate that you’re serious.
2. Get a professional headshot: This creates a strong first impression. It's often the first thing potential clients, see, so it sets the tone for future interactions. It should be retaken every couple of years and used on your website, social media channels, your LinkedIn profile, your bio, etc. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but it should be done by a pro in a professional setting.
3. Get a professional business card: A well-designed business card creates a strong first impression and reflects your professionalism and attention to detail. Don’t get a free card from Vista Print; I mean, have one designed by a professional, with up-to-date information and nice card stock. Your card makes an impression every time you hand it to someone – a small investment in a professional looking card will make a good one.
4. Develop a strong brand identity: A unique brand identity sets you apart from competitors. Elements like your logo, color scheme, presentations, brochures, online materials, etc. helps customers easily recognize and remember your brand. This recognition can lead to increased brand loyalty and repeat business. Always be consistent in your branding.
All four of these things are easy to implement and cost-effective. By taking these steps, you'll not only leave a positive impression on the world, but you are building a professional branding look for your business which makes you’ll feel like a million bucks!

I am a big fan of homemade juices. I enjoy blending different fruits and vegetables. I do fruit juices and spice it with a touch of ginger, which makes it very refreshing served chilled.
One of my specialty is carrot, beet root and ginger blended together.
Another favorite is green juice without added sugar. These are very refreshing, especially in the sunshine state of Florida.
